Feelings, Part 2
Thought for your day #32, Wed 9/27/00.
(Part 1 is here)
News this week:
 | Friend #1's fiancé returned to her husband |
 | Friend #2's 4th epidural spinal surgery didn't remove his debilitating
pain |
 | Friend #3's cousin committed suicide |
 | Friend #4's place of employment for 23 years closed its doors without
notice |
 | Friend #5's son lost an arm in a car accident; no sign of coming out of
the coma |
 | Friend #6's head got shaved, rather than let it fall out when the
chemotherapy starts |
I am so tired.
I am so sad.
It would be so easy to feel so depressed.
From Peter Gabriel's "In Your Eyes":
Love...I get so lost sometimes
Days pass and this emptiness
fills my heart
When I want to run away
I drive off in my car
But whichever way I go
I come back to the place you
are...
Love....I don't like to see so
much pain
So much wasted and this moment
keeps slipping away
I get so tired of working so hard
for our survival
I look to the time with you to
keep me awake and alive
These are the times that challenge us. And yes, there are a million
feelings, most of them not-so-nice.
It's all easy when it's easy, yes?......With no problems, plenty of money,
health is fine, it's easy to think our lives are love, peace, joy and bliss.
Then the real world comes knocking....."Hello!"
And sometimes it all seems so hopeless.....pointless.....I mean, in a world
of so much pain, why bother? What good, really, does this silly little
website do? Or any of our other activities......Why, indeed, bother?
Why even get out of bed? Why even go on?
The best answer I can give is The Starfish Story. I heard this first on
The Dr. Laura Schlessinger radio show.
Two people are walking along the beach. The beach is covered with
literally thousands of starfish. And when the starfish stay in the
hot sun for too long, they die. And one of the people is reaching
down and throwing starfish back into the ocean. The other says,
"Why bother? There are thousands of starfish. They're all
going to die. What you are doing doesn't matter." The
first, tossing yet another starfish to safety, says, "It mattered to THAT
one."
No, I cannot solve everyone's problems. Neither can you. And all
too often it seems that whatever we might do is all too little.
But this email also came in this week:
Hi webmaster and members of the Church of YHWH. I delightfully discovered you
while researching .com names for my own website which is still under construction. I
agree with everything in your website....I just wish to bless you and your
integrity and am so very thankful for souls like yours who are clearly doing
the work for the benefit of all. It warms my heart to know you are there and
I am grateful for what you are creating. Please feel free to contact me any
time if you wish and know that you are truly blessed. With beams of Love,
Light & Laughter signed....
So, we mattered to that one. And to this one too:
Dear brother,
I extend my warmest greetings from the Philippines .
I am brother .....,37 years of
age, Filipino. I graduated from ....... in .........City in
1991. Right after my
graduation I started a pioneering work here in ...... City under the sponsorship of
........ Church. Allow me to relate my past. It was in 1977 I opened the Bible and encountered "YAHWEH" in
it. From that time I never forget God's name. I have used it since last
1977. I introduced His name to .... Church and pray to Heavenly
father (YHWH).
I tried to put "www.churchofyahweh.org" in the
internet. Halleluiah! At last I found a church which bears God's
name. Can you give me Bibles which use the name of our Creator?
I love His wonderful name! How can I become a member of this church?
What must I do in order to be a member of "Church of Yahweh"?
Can you share the message of salvation taught by Church of Yahweh?
Please send some books to me. Here in the Philippines most churches do not
know the name of God. Just use God in the name of Jesus Christ.
That's all. They never mention the name of a holy God.
May YHWH richly bless you all.
Every single one of you can and does help. With your prayers, with
your recommendations to friends, with your donations (which only go toward
promotion), with your interesting emails.
And not just in this ministry, but in all the other places we are able to
touch people......Yes, the sun is baking......Yes, we are in pain.....Yes, the
tide is moving out......
But we cannot give up. We must not.
What we do does matter....to that one.
Please, really, if you are reading this, could you just send
me an email? Short and sweet is fine, it need not be long...Just a
word of encouragement at this time will, indeed, matter to this
one.
And thank you. I feel better.
